Transferrin saturation = (serum iron ÷ TIBC) × 100. Reference ranges differ between laboratories and between men and women.

One number is one line of your test.

BloodMarker reads your whole panel and tells you what the lines say together, which is the part no single calculation can do.

Questions

What is transferrin saturation?

It is the percentage of your iron-carrying capacity that is currently occupied by iron.

Why does it matter when ferritin is normal?

Ferritin rises with inflammation, so it can look normal or high while iron availability is low. Saturation is less affected by that.
