LDL to HDL Ratio Calculator

Your LDL alone does not say how much it matters. Divided by your HDL it says a great deal more, because HDL is the counterweight.

Ratio bands as used in standard lipid reporting; thresholds vary slightly between laboratories.

One number is one line of your test.

BloodMarker reads your whole panel and tells you what the lines say together, which is the part no single calculation can do.

Questions

What is a good LDL to HDL ratio?

Under 2.0 is generally considered optimal. Between 2.0 and 3.0 is moderate, and above 3.0 is high.

Is the ratio better than LDL on its own?

It carries more information than LDL alone because it accounts for the protective HDL fraction, but neither number is meaningful without the rest of the panel and your own risk factors.
