Privacy Policy
What We Collect
BloodMarker collects minimal data. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. This includes standard analytics data such as page views, time on page, device type, and approximate geographic location. We do not collect your name or any personally identifiable information from browsing the site.
There are exactly two ways we end up with your email address: you ask us for a retest reminder, or you email us. Both are described below.
Retest reminders
Most blood markers are worth rechecking after a few months, and the articles on this site say so. If you ask us to remind you, we store three things: your email address, the name of the marker you were reading, and the date the reminder is due.
We do not store your result. We keep “fasting glucose”, never “fasting glucose 100”. The first is a reminder. The second would be a medical record, and we are not in the business of keeping one.
We send one email, when the reminder falls due. We do not send a newsletter, we do not sell or share the list, and we do not use it for advertising. Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe, and the same link lets you delete the record outright rather than just switching it off.
Records are kept for 18 months and then deleted automatically, whether or not you ever open anything. You can ask us to erase yours at any time by emailing contact@bloodmarker.com, and you do not have to give a reason.
Health Data
The document is never kept. If you upload a PDF, photo or screenshot, it is sent to Google’s Gemini API to be read once, and we do not store the file afterwards.
The values read from it are kept, in some cases. If you type values in and never buy or save anything, they stay in your browser and we never receive them. If you buy a report, the values are recorded alongside that payment with our payment processor, Stripe. If you save a test to your tracker, the values are stored on our side so a later test can be compared against it.
Alongside those values we hold your email address. We do not ask for your name, address, date of birth or medical history, and we do not sell or share any of it.
You can delete any saved test yourself from your tracker. To have everything removed, including the payment record, email contact@bloodmarker.com and we will do it and confirm when it is gone.
Cookies
We use cookies for Google Analytics, which helps us understand traffic patterns and improve the site.
Advertising
We may display advertising supplied by Google. Where we do, Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads, or opt out of third-party advertising cookies more broadly at aboutads.info/choices.
Advertising never sees your blood test. Your values are never passed to Google’s advertising systems or to any advertiser, so they cannot be used to target ads at you. See Health Data above for where they do go.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymous site usage analytics
- Netlify — website hosting
- Stripe — payment processing (if you purchase an analysis). Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy. We never see or store your credit card number.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. We do not run ads. We do not use your data for marketing purposes.
Children
BloodMarker is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
